Our Wood

We Got Wood

We use domestically sourced Hardwoods.  Mostly Cherry, Rock Maple, and Black Walnut.  These wood species are great for use in cutting boards, toys, and kitchen gadgets.  They are, well, hard.  They resist the sharp edge of your knives, gnawing of young children’s teeth, and general use.  Not totally but, the grain orientation will prevent deep cuts.

We make boards with two types of orientation.  One is Edge Grain.  This type makes for a tough surface.  The other is End Grain.  End Grain makes for an even tougher surface.  This orientation of End Grain allows for: less knife marks, easier on sharpened knife edges, and longer lifespan.

We support the Forest Stewardship Council, FSC. The “FSC will promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests”. When ever possible we use FSC certified sourced wood.
